
所謂問答法,就是通過對課文內容的提問,然后利用問題答案的關鍵詞來背誦課文的方法。
與《新概念英語》第一冊單課的課文以對話為主不同,第二冊新概念英語課文都是篇幅為100-180個單詞的短文,所以在背誦上難度要更大。但其實即使如此,也有一些較好的背誦方法,比如說問答法。
因為新概念英語課文側重的是在復習鞏固第一冊所學內容的基礎上,開始逐步培養學生的閱讀和寫作能力。為此,作者在第二冊的每一篇課文后面都有設計摘要寫作(Summary writing)的內容,而這個摘要寫作的要求基本都是先針對課文內容來提問,然后要求學生根據課文內容用完整的句子來回答。每個摘要的篇幅要求基本是原文的一半,從50個單詞左右到90個單詞左右不等,基本是每24課就增加一定的篇幅。
作者設計新概念英語課文摘要寫作的本意是要提升學生的基礎寫作能力,但其實我們可以利用摘要部分的問題來幫助學生較快地背出課文內容;當然,因為是要幫助學生背出課文的每一句話,所以不能僅僅參考摘要部分的問題,而要盡量針對課文的每一句話來設問。下面我們就以第4課為例來說明如何用問答法來背誦課文。先來看看原文的內容:
Lesson 4 An exciting trip
I have just received a letter from my brother, Tim. He is in Australia. He has been there for six months. Tim is an engineer. He is working for a big firm and he has already visited a great number of different places in Australia.
He has just bought an Australian car and has gone to Alice Springs, a small town in the center of Australia. He will soon visit Darwin. From there, he will fly to Perth. My brother has never been abroad before, so he is finding this trip very exciting.
針對課文的每一句話,我們可以如此設問:
1. What have I just received from my brother, Tim?
2. Where is he? How long has he been there?
3. What’s Tim’s job? / What’s Tim? / What does Tim do? Where is he working? HAS he already visited a great number of different places in Australia?
有了這些問題,我們就可以引導學生快速背出課文了,因為學生只要用完整的句子來回答這些問題即可,而且因為學生之前已經跟著老師詳細學習過課文,對課文內容已經較為熟悉,所以可以在回答問題時自行把答案進行調整,從而確保與課文內容是完全一致的。
